What aspect ratios does Etsy use for listing photos?
Etsy displays your listing photos in multiple formats depending on where they appear in the marketplace. The four key ratios are 1:1 (square) for the standard grid view, 4:3 (landscape) for the main listing page hero, 5:4 (classic print) for certain search results, and 4:5 (portrait) for some mobile views. Wrenkit previews all four simultaneously so you can be confident before uploading.
Does Wrenkit upload my images to a server?
No — your images never leave your device. Wrenkit processes everything entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We have no server, no storage, and no way to access your photos. When you close the tab, the image is gone.
What is the recommended image size for Etsy listings?
Etsy recommends uploading images that are at least 2000px on the shortest side, with a maximum file size of 100MB. For the best quality across all crop formats, shoot or export at a minimum of 2000 × 2000px (for square), or 2700 × 2025px (for landscape-first compositions). Wrenkit shows you the exact pixel dimensions of each crop based on your actual image.
How do I use the safe zone grid?
Scroll down to the Safe Zone Grid section after uploading your photo. Each dashed rectangle represents a different crop boundary. The darkened areas outside each rectangle will be hidden in that format. Toggle each ratio on or off using the buttons above the grid. Drag the image to reposition your focal point until all important content sits comfortably inside every boundary.

Wrenkit is completely free with no limits, no account, and no watermarks. It started as something built for personal use — a quick way to stop guessing how Etsy would frame a photo. It felt useful enough to share, so here it is.
